Parable of the Good Samaritan

Friday, March 23 – Read Luke 10:25-37

This parable is one of the passages found only in Luke. Jesus tells it in response to a lawyer who asks what he must do to inherit eternal life. Jesus and the lawyer quickly agree that the great commandments are to love God with all you have, and to love your neighbor as yourself. But then the lawyer asks, “Who is my neighbor?” and Jesus tells perhaps his best-known parable.

Reflection Questions: In the parable, which character do you identify with the most? Why?

Prayer: Dear God, help me to see my neighbors in need. Help me to love and care for them as much as I love and care for myself. Amen.
